Price Chopper Names Regional V.P. of Operations

Price Chopper Supermarkets/Golub Corp. said yesterday that its has promoted Jody Plonski to the position of regional vice president of operations, reporting directly to v.p. of store operations David Golub.

Plonski replaces Jay Ropietski. As reported by online by Progressive Grocer yesterday, Ropietski took the job of v.p. store operations at Sunbury, Pa.-based Weis Markets.

At Golun Price Chopper, Plonski will oversee the operations of all stores in Massachusetts, Vermont, and Schenectady, NY. Since joining Price Chopper in 1999, he has held several positions in operations, the most recent being zone director.

Based in Schenectady, N.Y., the Golub Corp. owns and operates over 100 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. The family-owned company employs over 23,000 associates who collectively own 55 percent of its privately held stock.
