Giant Eagle Foundation Commits $1 Million to Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital

In recognition of the $1 million commitment to Pittsburgh
Children’s Hospital’s capital campaign by the Giant Eagle
Foundation has made, the University of Pittsburgh Medical
Center-owned hospital will name a suite of libraries, lounges, a
family business center and other parts of the hospital’s sixth
floor the Giant Eagle Foundation Family Support Center. As part of
the 20,000-square-foot Elsa M. and Alma E. Mueller Family Resource
Center, the area also includes the Howard Hanna Healing Garden, the
Eat’n Park Atrium and Austin’s Playroom.
Children’s Hospital Foundation launched the public phase of its
$100 million capital campaign a year ago, and has so far received
commitments of nearly $65 million.
Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle Inc. operates 163 corporate and 58
independently owned and operated supermarkets and 153 fuel and
convenience stores throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, north
central West Virginia and Maryland.
