National Co-op Grocers Raise Funds for Farm Flood Victims
July 22, 2008
Members of the National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA) are
banding together to help raise funds for co-ops and co-op suppliers
hurt by the historic floods that devastated portions of the Midwest
over the past several weeks.
NCGA, a business services cooperative for 109 consumer-owned food
co-ops located throughout the United States, is collaborating with
the Northcountry Cooperative Development Fund (NCDF), to make its
cooperative disaster relief funds available as a collection and
disbursement agent for donations.
Shoppers at participating co-ops will be able to donate in four
ways: cash and spare change; check; mail; and online.
A business services cooperative for retail food co-ops located
throughout the United States, NCGA is owned by 109 food co-ops
operating more than 130 stores in 32 states with combined annual
sales of over $945 million.
