Ecolab Earns Status as Safe Quality Food Training Center

July 17, 2008

Ecolab Inc.'s food safety and quality assurance business, EcoSure, has earned the status of licensed training center for FMI's Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, a global food safety and quality certification program and management system designed to meet the needs of buyers and suppliers worldwide.

Said Bob Sherwood, EcoSure's v.p./g.m., "This is our next step towards better supporting the food industry's adoption of the Global Food Safety Initiative's (GFSI) recognized food safety programs, and continuing Ecolab's commitment to providing food safety solutions to our customers."

Customers who successfully pass the SQF coursework will meet the requirements to become a SQF practitioner and can then help lead the implementation of SQF standards at any food industry facility. Additionally, customers can contract with EcoSure to obtain SQF consulting services and provide additional assistance as food industry operators implement the SQF program.

EcoSure will host monthly SQF classes at locations around the country, including Chicago, St. Paul, Minn.; and Greensboro, N.C. Courses can also be held at individual customer sites. For more information, contact EcoSure at 866-ECOSUR1 or via e-mail at FoodSafety@ecolab.com.
