London-based Morrisons, which sources and packs fruit and
vegetables straight from British farms, has released a video that
follows the journey of Bramley and Cox apples from tree to store.
A star attraction of the film is Morrisons' apple buyer Jonathan
Hooper, who works closely with farmers to get the apples in-store
when they are best in season.
The video, available on the supermarket chain’s Web site, also
highlights that fresh British apples are used to in-store to
prepare Morrisons apple and pork stuffed pork loin, as well as its
signature Bramley apple pies.
"Morrisons has totally supported our company by agreeing to take
all our quality apples,” says Nicholas Dunsby, whose family
company, Cotswolds orchards has been growing apples for over 50
years. “In return we have agreed to supply Morrisons exclusively,"
he added.
