DCI Cheese Marks Winter Olympics With Snowboard Giveaway

Dec 22, 2009

With the 2010 Winter Olympics set to take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, DCI Cheese Co. is rolling out a themed giveaway of 300 snowboards in support of Canadian-based Black Diamond Cheddar cheese. The enter-to-win “Win a Snowboard” contest, which will run from Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2010, will be available to shoppers at such participating grocers as Safeway, Whole Foods Market and Wakefern Food Corp.’s ShopRite stores.

Entrants, who must be 18 or older and legal residents of the United States or the District of Columbia, will be able to fill out and submit forms for the opportunity to win one of 300 snowboards, and deposit them in ballot boxes that will be set up beside displays of Black Diamond Cheddar products at participating locations’ deli cases. Odds of winning depend on the amount of eligible entries received. Winners will be notified right after the official drawing.

“We’re … encouraging [customer] participation with the slogan ‘Feed Your Inner Olympian’,” noted Dominique Delugeau, SVP of sales for Richfield, Wis.-based DCI. “Cheddar is America’s favorite snack cheese, and our Black Diamond line provides a palate-pleasing option for consumers to enjoy while watching the Olympic Games this winter.”

Black Diamond aged cheddars represent over a century of traditional craftsmanship. The products can be found in the deli case. Recipes using Black Diamond cheese are available at www.dcicheeseco.com.

Besides Black Diamond, DCI Cheese Co., the largest importer and marketer of specialty cheeses and other restaurant-quality prepared foods in the United States, offers such fully owned or exclusively held imported and domestic specialty cheese brands as Goldy’s, Joan of Arc, King’s Choice, Meza, Nikos, Organic Creamery and Salemville.
