Hy-Vee Readies for Star-Studded Whole Health Experience

Oct 13, 2009

A high-profile lineup will headline Hy-Vee’s Whole Health Experience, a symposium of the latest trends in nutrition, weight loss and physical fitness, on Nov. 8 from noon to 6 p.m.

Shawn Johnson, 2008 Olympic gold medalist, will be among the guest speakers at Hy-Vee’s first-ever Whole Health event, a daylong event that will focus on healthy lifestyles, healthy eating and wellness.

The event will also feature more than 80 exhibit booths with information on disease prevention and fitness-related products, along with games, healthy cooking demonstrations, goal setting, health and exercise, and disease education. Hy-Vee pharmacists will be on hand to provide flu shots.

Along with Johnson, other speakers slated to appear at the event include Hunter Kemper, an Olympic triathlete; Dr. David Katz of the NuVal food-rating system used by Hy-Vee; Will Cross, the first American with diabetes to reach the summit of Mount Everest; and Amanda Gates, former University of Nebraska-Lincoln volleyball star.

Tickets are available at all Omaha Hy-Vee area stores; the cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.
