Roundy’s Acquiring Aurora In-Store Pharmacies

Nov 2, 2009

Roundy’s Supermarkets, Inc. plans to acquire 20 pharmacies located inside of its Pick ’n Save and Copps stores in Wisconsin that are operated by Aurora Health Care. Roundy’s expects to begin running the in-store pharmacies in December after receiving the appropriate regulatory approvals.

The Milwaukee-based grocer will offer all Aurora pharmacy employees the opportunity to apply for positions once the deal is complete.

Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.

With nearly $4 billion in sales and more than 19,000 employees, Roundy’s operates 154 grocery stores and 88 pharmacies under the Pick ’n Save, Copps, Rainbow and Metro Market banners in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
