Former Wal-Mart exec Lori Malcolm has joined Sweetbay Supermarket,
the Tampa, Fla.-based chain owned by Delhaize Group, as v.p. of
human resources.
Malcolm’s primary responsibilities, according to the grocer,
include “promoting Sweetbay’s passion for food and passion for
people” among associates, senior managers, and operating officers
and directors. She will also be responsible for enhancing
Sweetbay’s corporate culture and values, with the goal of helping
to create a vibrant place to work.
Malcolm, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the areas
of finance, marketing, information technology, and human resources
management to the job, previously held the title of senior director
of human resources transformation at Bentonville, Ark.-based
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. She was one of five leaders selected across
all human resources areas to design the next generation of HR
within the organization.
Prior to working for Wal-Mart, she held various positions in
marketing and recruitment for Disney Worldwide Services, Inc.,
Robert Half International, and IBM Corp.
