Freezer herbs

March 31, 2008

sholl groupThe next best thing to having a year-round herb garden is the line of frozen fresh herbs from Daregal, based in Milly-la-Forêt, France, a region famous for its herbs. The ready-to-use chopped herbs can go straight from the freezer into soups, sauces, salads, or spreads, with no thawing necessary. Daregal's deep-freezing process maintains the herbs' fresh-picked flavor, aroma, and color. Additionally, unlike similar products, Daregal frozen herbs are misted with a fine layer of vegetable oil to keep them free-flowing, and contain no salt or preservatives. Varieties include Basil, Italian Parsley, Dill, and Oregano, with such combinations as Italian Blend (Italian parsley, basil, oregano, red onion, and thyme) and Grilling Blend (thyme, rosemary, savory, and Italian parsley). The suggested retail price for a 1.76-ounce container is $4.79. For more information contact Daregal v.p. Charles Darbonne at (609) 902-7101 or charles@daregalgourmet.com.
