Progressive Grocer's List of the Foremost Female Executives in the Food Industry

This is a business where males have traditionally far outnumbered females in the corporate suite, and largely continue to, even though the opposite is the case in the nationwide consumer market that grocers and most CPG companies so enthusiastically proclaim they want to know better and serve better.

Luckily, in the past few decades, women have made real progress in helping to change this dichotomy, introducing a much-needed female perspective into the upper echelons of food industry management by taking the reins themselves.

With this first-ever special section, Progressive Grocer recognizes some of the leaders—the best and the brightest—who by example and direct action have proved that a woman’s place is in the head office. These women—there are 62 of them recognized here—represent all major sectors of the grocery industry: retailers, wholesalers, and product manufacturers, as well as the trade association community.
