Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. said this week that its Web site,
Walmart.com, has added nearly 1 million new items to its online
product assortment with the launch of the new “Walmart
Marketplace,” which enables a select group of retailers to offer
additional products at Walmart.com.
Walmart Marketplace further expands its online assortment with new
products and top brands within some of the most popular online
categories, including home, baby, apparel, toys and sporting
goods/sports memorabilia. Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart said it
carefully chose specific retailers for its Marketplace based on
their “strong customer service track records and large assortments
of quality brands and products.”
Wal-Mart plans to grow the Marketplace program with additional
retailers over the next year.
