Tesco's Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market will open its first two stores in Bakersfield, Calif. December 3, and plans to open three more in Kern County, including one more in Bakersfield, and one each in the towns of Wasco and Delano.
 
Each store will employ 20 to 30 people hired from its local neighborhood, and will be constructed following LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified guidelines, recycling or reusing all shipping and display materials and using environmentally friendly trailers to transport food.
