Kroger Offers $10 Discounts with $100 in Gift Card Purchases

Nov 22, 2009

Kroger stores will begin a two-week holiday gift card promotion on Black Friday that will offer $10 discounts for every $100 worth of gift card purchases when customers use their loyalty cards at the checkout.

Beginning Black Friday through Sunday, Dec. 13, the special offer will be available in all Kroger stores and other stores the company operates under the City Market, Dillons, Jay C, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s banners.

“Kroger’s Holiday Gift Card Deal is just one more way we offer exceptional value to customers when they need it most,” said Donald Becker, EVP of Cincinnati-based Kroger. “Shoppers this season can find all they need to create memorable holidays for family and friends at their neighborhood Kroger stores.”

Whether the items are purchased as presents or for personal use, “[c]ustomers can earn additional fuel rewards through this limited-time offer and stretch their holiday shopping dollars even further,” added Becker.

Several top retailers are participating in this two-week program, including Applebee's, Bass Pro Shops, Bath & Body Works, Best Buy, iTunes, Sears and Spa Finder. Customers can mix and match gift cards from participating retailers to reach the $100 amount and then receive $10 off their total purchase. The maximum savings per household on the special gift card sale is $50. Gift cards for Kroger stores aren’t included.
