The U.S. Foodlink website, newsletter and e-mail bulletin is brought to you by the Food Export Association of the Midwest USA and Food Export USA-Northeast, two state regional trade groups located in the U.S. that promote exports of U.S. food and agriculture. Through a partnership with Progressive Grocer/VNU and The Food Institute, U.S. Foodlink was created to provide readers credible data and information in an easy-to-read format.

About FOOD EXPORT USA and Food Export Association of the Midwest USA
Who are we?
With a combined experience of over 60 years, Food Export USA-Northeast and the Food Export Association of the Midwest USA have assisted thousands of U.S. food and agricultural producers in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States to learn about exporting and to increase their export sales. By recognizing overseas opportunities and obstacles that U.S. exporters encounter, Food Export USA-Northeast and Food Export Association of the Midwest USA have created programs in export education, market entry and market promotions.
By recognizing the needs of U.S exporters, Food Export Association of the Midwest USA and Food Export USA-Northeast have created the following programs and services that can assist importers and distributors find new U.S food suppliers and manufacturers.
Branded Importer Program
The Branded Program provides an outlet to facilitate trade between U.S. food suppliers and importers around the world. The program assists small food and agricultural businesses by reimbursing them for eligible marketing and promotional costs. While this program is designed for U.S. companies to begin exporting, it is invaluable for importers and distributors who pay for marketing and promotion activities on behalf of their U.S. suppliers of food and agricultural products. Some of the eligible expenses include trade show costs, package and label modifications, freight costs, public relations, advertising and more.
To qualify for the program, the importer/distributor must have their U.S. supplier qualify and apply for the Branded Program and the U.S. supplier must submit all reimbursement requests. Meet Qualified U.S. Suppliers
Food Export Association of the Midwest USA and Food Export USA - Northeast sponsor many activities that include face-to-face meetings with companies from the Midwest and Northeast sections of the United States. For example, you could participate in pre-arranged meetings with qualified U.S. suppliers at a food industry tradeshow in your country or participate in a "Buyers' Missions" that brings you to the U.S. to meet with prospective U.S. suppliers.
Product Promotions
Food Export Association of the Midwest USA and Food Export USA - Northeast also sponsor promotions in overseas markets that showcase U.S. food products. Examples include retail displays, cooking demonstrations at trade shows and industry seminars, and U.S. menu promotions in food service establishments.
