Giant Food Launches New Savings Program
SEPTEMBER 30, 2009 --
Giant Food, Landover, MD, has launched a new initiative that will double the number of sale items each week to help consumers stretch their budget. The program was initiated as students head back to school, a time traditionally hard on families’ checkbooks.
Giant is introducing new shelf gags and in-store signage, along with a redesigned loyalty card. Customers can register their card online and create their own shopping profile, view store services, and track savings and reward programs.
The new value initiative began August 28, complementing earlier changes at Giant, which include a fresh look in many stores, the launch of corporate brand products such as Nature’s Promise, and the introduction of new in-store technology such as ORDER IT! Deli kiosks and SCAN IT! hand-held scanners.
