    PROMOTION/TECHNOLOGY: Nature’s Pride Backs Food Bloggers

    Nature’s Pride bread, the only brand of 100 percent natural breads available across the United States, has signed on to be an official sponsor of the first annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival, which will unite the country’s top food bloggers to compare notes and sample the latest and greatest new products.

Hosted by Foodbuzz, the fast-growing food site that aggregates, organizes and curates over 1.5 million blog posts from 10,000 food blogs around the world, the invitation-only event is slated for Nov. 6 through Nov. 8, 2009, in San Francisco.

    Nature’s Pride, a division of Kansas City, Mo.-based Interstate Brands Corp., will take part in several of Foodbuzz Blogger Festival events, including the “Afternoon Tasting Pavilion” on Nov. 7 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at which producers, brands, wineries and chefs will swap tastes and recipes. Six festival attendees, dubbed Nature’s Pride “Bread Ambassadors,” will prepare live at the Tasting Pavilion their submitted original recipes using Nature’s Pride bread.

    Additionally, the brand will be the presenting sponsor of the “Sunday Brunch” on Nov. 8, featuring such classic brunch favorites as French toast and egg sandwiches made with Nature’s Pride bread.

    “Foodbuzz represents what is important to all food lovers — ‘finding flavor and sharing taste,’” explained Laura Pitlik, Insterstate’s director of marketing, super premium bread. “We’ll also be announcing the latest news from the Nature’s Pride brand at the Foodbuzz Blogger Festival.”

    Also as part of the partnership, Nature’s Pride has launched a brand profile page on Foodbuzz, which can be viewed at http://www.foodbuzz.com/brands/producer/nature's+pride+bread/. The brand profile page is the first stop for community engagement on Foodbuzz, and will enable Nature’s Pride to stimulate, monitor and interact with food fans about its products.

    Introduced in February of this year, the Nature’s Pride product line consists of 24-ounce Premium Hearty Breads in such varieties as 100% Whole Wheat, 12-Grain, Healthy Multi-Grain; and 20-ounce Traditional Soft Breads in 100% Whole Wheat and Honey Wheat varieties.

    Interstate’s other brands include Wonder, Hostess, Dolly Madison, Home Pride, Merita and Drake’s.
