Publix Appoints V.P. for Atlanta Division

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Publix here said Friday that Lakeland division regional director Chuck Roskovich will succeed v.p. of the Atlanta division Bob Moore, who earlier this year announced his decision to retire Dec. 31, 2007.

Roskovich joined Publix in 1975 in Lauderhill, Fla., as a front-service clerk, and spent much of his early years with the Southeast regional grocer in the meat department. In 1992 he was meat manager at the first Atlanta division store in Marietta, Ga. One year later he rose to store manager, and was promoted to district manager in 1995. He has been a regional director in the Lakeland division for the southwest region since 2000.

“Chuck’s career includes working in three of our four divisions,” noted Publix director of media and community relations Maria Brous in a statement.

On the community front, Roskovich has served on the board of the United Way of Sarasota County since 2001, and as campaign chair for the 2006-2007 annual campaign. Additionally, he’s vice chair for the Success by 6 initiative.

Privately owned and operated by its 143,000 employees, Publix has 907 stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee.
