Publix Deploys Scale Management Software

Publix Super Markets has deployed a new scale management software system for data transmission to and from the barcode labeling scales in their stores.

The grocer is using Tampa, Fla.-based ADC's InterScale, which communicates with over 50 different types of barcode labeling scales, printers and kiosks, from a variety of manufacturers. "InterScale allows Publix to not only send on-time scale batches, but it also lays the groundwork for future fresh item management projects," said Steve Loveridge, ADC's CEO.

InterScale is a toolset within ADC's InterStore fresh item management software suite that works with the NutriGen Recipe Manager and the P-Cubed In-Store Food Production Manager to provide grocers with an integrated software solution to help increase efficiencies in their fresh departments.

Founded in 1930, Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix Super Markets operates 1,068 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee.
