Publix Reportedly Testing Curbside Service

LAKELAND, Fla. -- In its latest move to offer customers more convenience-driven services, Publix Super Markets, Inc. here is testing curbside carryout at its store in Fort Meyers, Fla., according to a report in the Lakeland Ledger.

The curbside service is being offered for deli items such as subs, salads, and fried chicken, and is similar to restaurant curbside service. Customers phone in orders, park in designated spaces, and pay for the order.

Publix began testing the program about a week ago and has no current plans to expand it, according to the report.
