Independent retailer-owned wholesaler Associated Food Stores, Inc. and Premier Retail Networks, Inc. (PRN), a San Francisco-based provider of digital out-of-home media solutions, have signed a multiyear agreement to continue the operation of PRN’s Checkout TV Network in Associated Food’s newly acquired Fresh Market stores. PRN will become Associated Food Stores’ preferred vendor for in-store electronic media.
Salt Lake City-based Associated, which provides products and services to over 600 grocers in eight states throughout the Intermountain West, last year bought 34 Albertsons stores in Utah from Supervalu, with whom PRN has had a long-term relationship. Associated is converting these locations to the Fresh Market banner.
“Because our customers are our top priority, we wanted a way to inform them about upcoming promotions and product specials in a way that would add to their shopping experience at Fresh Market, their locally owned neighborhood grocer — which PRN’s Checkout TV Network provides,” said Fresh Market president Dick King.
Added Chuck Billups, PRN VP of retailer development, “Associated Food Stores’ decision is a strong endorsement of the value Checkout TV Network continues to deliver to shoppers and advertisers.”
PRN’s Checkout TV Network is additionally featured at Acme Markets, Albertsons, Fresh Market, Jewel-Osco, Pathmark, Shaw’s/Star Market, ShopRite and Walmart Stores.
Associated’s other store banners are Macey’s, Dan’s, Lin’s and Dick’s Market.
