Redner's Donates $104K to Toys for Tots

READING, Pa. - Redner's Warehouse Markets here and sister company Quick Shoppes c-stores raised $105,000 and collected more than three tractor trailers full of new, unwrapped toys on behalf of various Toys for Tots programs throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland in 2007.

The trademark of Redner's 26-year-old signature charitable program has been paper choo-choo trains bearing personal messages that customers can purchase for a $1 donation. The grocer displays the paper trains at the front of the stores throughout the holiday season.

Highlighting the 2007 program were the six Redner's associates who sold more than 1,000 trains each. The key component of the program is the assurance the company's associates provide customers that all money and toys collected within a store are donated to the local community.

The employee-owned Redner's currently operates 39 Warehouse Markets and 12 Quick Shoppes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland.
