Renaissance Food Group Goes Mobil with Mobishelf

Mobile website, QR codes enhance consumer marketing and education

Renaissance Food Group (RFG) of Monrovia, Calif. has selected Mobishelf, a division of Plastech Specialties Co., to create customized mobile websites that include recipes, nutritional information and video cooking demonstrations for all 33 products in RFG’s Chef Essentials line.

“My favorite new feature is the addition of the QR scan cooking video that instantly shows how to prepare, cook and serve," explained Jim Catchot, RFG president.

Plastech Specialties manufacturers point of purchase materials for supermarkets and food manufacturers nationwide; the company’s Mobishelf division helps clients expand their marketing efforts by creating, hosting and managing mobile websites accessed via QR codes.

“Consumers are relying more on their mobile devices for information about products before they make a buying decision,” said Pat Delaney, Plastech Specialties president. “Since two out of three buying decisions are made at the shelf, that’s the time and place to deliver the marketing message.”

The new Chef Essentials line and mobile website launched nationwide in September.
