A&P Forms Partnership with Security Check, LLC

MONTVALE, N.J. -- The Great Atlantic & Tea Co., Inc. (A&P) here has entered into a long-term partnership with Security Check, LLC, an Oxford, Miss.-based check-processing service provider. Security Check's program at A&P includes total returned check management services and collections.

The company's seamless solution for the Mid-Atlantic regional grocer features returned check consolidation, electronic re-presentment, primary collections, secondary collection services, and data management. The goal of the implementation was to lower processing costs and boost working capital.

Rob Vincent, chief marketing and sales officer at Security Check, told Progressive Grocer that the program had been rolled out chainwide several months ago.

"At A&P, we are constantly exploring ways to enhance our business. Reducing risk in accepting checks as one of our popular forms of payment is a prime example," noted A&P director of communications Rick DeSanta in a statement. "By partnering with Security Check, we have been able to find fresh ideas to help assist with our payment solutions approach."
