Ball's Food Stores Goes Live with Price Optimization Solution

KANSAS CITY, Kansas - Following a quick 14-week installation, regional independent Ball's Food Stores yesterday went live with its new price optimization system and is modeling and executing the first cycle of pricing in key categories.

The retailer installed PriceStrat software, from Floram Park, N.J.-based KSS, to enable it to model and evaluate the effects of its regular and promotional prices on-demand.

"KSS has been able to quickly deploy price optimization inside of our operations and we are intent on using the PriceStrat optimization solution to insure that we are offering value to our consumers," said Mike Beal, c.f.o. of Ball's.

Ball's operates 30 supermarkets in the Kansas City area under the Hen House Markets and Ball's Price Chopper banners. Hen House Markets are upscale, service-oriented establishments, while Price Chopper is the company's price-impact supermarket format.
