Brown & Cole Trades Card Program for Savings Program

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Brown & Cole stores, a regional independent that operates 30 stores under the banners of Cost Cutter, Food Pavilion, Everson Red Apple, Thrifty Foods, Market Place, and Food Depot, this week discontinued its rewards card program and plans to offer a new savings program in its place.

"Over the past year, we have been listening to our customers who want and easier way to save money at our stores and who don't want to be bothered with a card program," said Jane Hubrig, director of advertising and loyalty programs. "We take this feedback very seriously and have spent several months developing a plan to change the way we deliver discount pricing to our shoppers."

The new program, called, "Over 1,000 Things on Sale," guarantees that at any given time or day, there are at least 1,000 generously discounted items. The promotional items change weekly, and no card or membership is required to take advantage of them.

Members of the retailer's previous loyalty program, S&H Greenpoints, can use their greenpoints until February 19 to purchase store savings certificates good through the year's end in either $1, $5, or $10 increments.
