CHEP Sells USA Reusable Plastic Container Assets to GAIT Packaging Ltd.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- GAIT Packaging, Ltd., has agreed to purchase the USA Reusable Plastic Container (RPC) assets from CHEP, the global leader in transport equipment pooling solutions. The agreement will be effective Oct. 15, 2005.

GAIT Packaging, with expertise in perishable round trip container support services for its current customers, will immediately begin servicing growers and retailers previously supported by CHEP. The purchase price was not disclosed.

CHEP, with more than 7,700 employees in 42 countries, handles pallet and container supply chain logistics for customers in the consumer goods, produce, meat, home improvement, beverage, raw materials and automotive industries.

GAIT Packaging, Ltd, a division of GAIT Holdings, is a leading logistics and reusable plastic container services company with expertise in the transportation business as well as the meat and poultry reusable plastic container market segments. Services include transportation and closed loop movements reusable plastic containers of meat and poultry products between producers, retailers and foodservice customers.
