CobornsDelivers Courts Twin Cities Park and Ride Commuters

Starting today, busy commuters who use the park-and-ride lot in Eden Prairie, Minn., can grab their groceries before jumping in their cars to head home, thanks to a new service unveiled by CobornsDelivers to deliver groceries directly to the lot at 13500 Technology Drive.

As the first-of-its-kind service in Minnesota, the New Hope, Minn.-based retailer is offering grocery pickup and delivery free for orders of $25 or more.

“Busy commuters can order their groceries online at CobornsDelivers by 10in the morning, and we will have them there fresh and ready to pick up as customers get back in their cars to head home that evening,” said CobornsDelivers VP of e-marketing Sue Westerman. Upon pulling into the parking lot, park-and-riders can look for the familiar yellow CobornsDelivers delivery trucks near the lot’s exit. “Our insulated totes keep everything fresh, cold or frozen for hours, and our delivery truck will be at the park and ride lot every weekday from 3:45 to 7:30 p.m.,” said Westerman.

CobornsDelivers has also begun offering pickup service at its CobornsDelivers.com Superstore at 3440 Winpark Drive, in New Hope. “Customers told us they wanted the option to order their groceries online for quick and easy pickup at our location,” said Westerman, noting that customers can place their orders online, and CobornsDelivers expert shoppers will put together the orders for pickup at the superstore weekdays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends from noon to 5 p.m. The service is also free for orders of $25 or more.

In addition, CobornsDelivers recently expanded its service area to reach more of the greater Twin Cities metro area, including Hudson Wis.; Chisago County; and Northfield -- locations that used to receive the service when it was SimonDelivers.

“What’s great about this expansion is that people who used to use SimonDelivers will be able to pick up where they left off,” noted Westerman. “We have all their account information ready to reactivate, and they’re going to love our lower prices and greater selection.”

CobornsDelivers decided to expand in response to overwhelming requests from customers, according to Westerman. “They really missed our service, and we’re so glad to be back serving them,” she said, adding that since St. Cloud-based Coborn’s, Inc, purchased SimonDelivers last October and renamed it CobornsDelivers, the online grocery and delivery service has seen steady growth in orders.

“In this economy, customers can make their grocery dollars go much further by taking advantage of CobornsDelivers’ low prices, great selection and small delivery fee,” observed Westerman.
