C&S Promotes Two Senior Execs
KEENE, N.H. -- C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. here has promoted two of its top executives. S.v.p. of finance Jim Weidenheimer becomes s.v.p., finance and supply chain, and s.v.p. of legal and business affairs Carl Wistreich becomes s.v.p., legal and human resources.
"C&S is committed to developing a top-flight management team," chairman and c.e.o. Rick Cohen noted in a statement. "Both Jim and Carl have played important roles in C&S's growth and operations. I am proud that [they] have developed as executives at C&S, and they now will play significant roles outside of their past areas of responsibility."
Weidenheimer, a CPA, joined C&S in 1999 as v.p. of finance, responsible for financial reporting and budgeting. He was promoted to s.v.p. in 2003. According to the company, Weidenheimer has played a crucial part in the execution of all of C&S's recent growth transactions, and in assuring that company's financial infrastructure has kept pace with its rapid growth. Before his tenure at C&S, Weidenheimer was the v.p. and c.f.o. of the wholesale division of Rich Food Holdings, Inc. and held important positions with Supervalu, Inc. and Wetterau, Inc.
Wistreich, who joined C&S in 1999 as a v.p. and was promoted to s.v.p. in 2003, has long been a key member of the C&S teams that secure and implement long-term supply agreements with customers. He has also loomed large in all of C&S' recent acquisitions, the company said. Before coming to C&S, Wistreich was an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP in New York, where he specialized in mergers, acquisitions, finance, and litigation. Before joining Skadden Arps, Wistreich was a law clerk for a federal district court judge in Philadelphia.
