Cub Foods Teams with Minnesota Wild Players for Food Dash Charity Event

The Cub Foods grocery store at Diffley Marketplace in Eagan, Minn., is hosting a special charity competition today in which Minnesota Wild Left Wing Stephane Veilleux and Goalie Josh Harding will race through grocery aisles in a timed, five-minute shopping spree.

Veilleux and Harding will each be partnered with a Cub Foods customer contest winner and will challenge each other in a five-minute sprint through store aisles, filling their grocery carts with food that will be donated to the Second Harvest Heartland Food Bank.

The contestant who fills their shopping cart with the highest value of food products will win the grand prize: a $500 Cub Foods gift certificate, a Minnesota Wild jersey, and four tickets to a Minnesota Wild hockey game. The second-place winner will receive a $250 Cub Foods gift certificate and the third-place winner will receive a $100 Cub Foods gift certificate.

Both second and third place will also receive a Minnesota Wild jersey and four tickets to a Minnesota Wild hockey game.

Contestants were chosen at random from an in-store drawing held during the grand opening week of Cub’s newest store in Eagan.

Established in 1968 as one of the nation’s first discount grocery stores, Cub Foods was purchased in 1980 by Supervalu and currently operates 56 stores in the Twin Cities.
