Food Lion Creates Post of V.P. of Efficiency and Productivity

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Food Lion LLC, a subsidiary of the Delhaize Group, has named David Hilse v.p. of efficiency and productivity. In the newly created position, Hilse will lead Food Lion's efforts to identify, prioritize, and implement initiatives to improve the company's efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness.

Processes Hilse will oversee include re-engineering cross-functional business processes, supply chain, and logistics enhancements; strategic sourcing; and oversight of Food Lion's project management office.

Hilse will continue to lead the company's financial analysis function. He reports to Terry Morgan, s.v.p. of information technology and chief information officer.

Hilse joined Food Lion in 2002, serving as director of financial analysis and director of supply chain. Prior to Food Lion, he held positions with Belk, Inc., Acme Markets of Virginia, Inc., Hannaford Bros. Co., and Shape Inc.
