Fresh Market to Anchor Edens & Avant's Corridors at Ponte Vedra

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Specialty food retailer The Fresh Market is relocating its Ponte Vedra, Fla. store to Corridors at Ponte Vedra, a shopping center at the intersection of Tournament Players Boulevard and A1A North in the upscale coastal community outside of Jacksonville, Fla. The company plans to open the new store by the middle of 2007.

"We are excited about the opportunity to relocate our current store location in the Ponte Vedra market," said Randy Kelley, The Fresh Market v.p. of real estate. "We feel confident that our new site and expanded store layout will allow us to better serve our customers."

The 38,000-square-foot anchor space previously used by another grocer will be subdivided. Approximately 26,000 square feet will be reconfigured to accommodate The Fresh Market's prototypical store format. The remaining space will feature additional retail.

"We have been fortunate to work closely with The Fresh Market on a number of deals, and felt this was a substantial opportunity for them as well as residents here," noted Lyle Darnall, v.p. of development - Southeast at Edens & Avant, a private retail real estate firm based in Columbia, S.C. "Their newest store format offers an incredible shopping experience that was designed for the demographic you find in this market, and will set the bar for planned future improvements to our center."
