Giant-Carlisle Names PR Director
CARLISLE, Pa. -- Giant Food Stores, LLC, based here, has named Tracy Pawelski director of public relations. Pawelski is responsible for promoting Giant Food Stores, Tops Markets, and Martin's Food Markets via corporatewide communications and public relations strategies.
In her new position, Pawelski reports to Denny Hopkins, v.p. for advertising and public relations.
Pawelski previously served as v.p., public relations at a marketing and communications firm in Harrisburg, Pa. During the administration of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, she was director of communications for the state's Department of Public Welfare, one of the largest government agencies in the United States.
Prior to that, Pawelski worked for The Hershey Co. and Rite Aid Corp. She also has experience in national politics, having worked for the Office of National Drug Control Policy, the White House, and in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Giant Food Stores, one of six retail-operating companies under Ahold USA, operates 103 stores as Giant Food Stores, 128 stores as Tops Markets, and 23 stores as Martin's Food Markets. With almost 40,000 associates Giant serves a six-state market area.
