Klever Marketing Adds Former Albertsons Pres. to Board
SALT LAKE CITY -- Klever Marketing, Inc., which markets and sells a wireless, shopping cart-mounted advertising and communications system in partnership with Fujitsu Transaction Solutions, added Richard King, former president and c.o.o. of Albertsons, Inc., to its board of directors.
As president and c.o.o. of Albertsons, King was responsible for a $16 billion operation, with nearly 1,000 stores and 100,000 employees. King is currently v.p. of Associated Foods Stores located in Salt Lake City, Utah, which supplies 600 grocery stores in eight western states. King has also served as president of Associated Retail Stores.
Klever Marketing's U-Scan system allows targeted ads and promotions are delivered to the customer through an electronic, remotely programmable display affixed to the shopping-cart handle. According to Klever, the device gives shoppers the ability to scan items while shopping, allowing them to check themselves out in the aisle.
