Local Victory Super Market Lowers Prices, Begins Major Remodel

Leominster, Mass. -- Victory Super Market customers in this community are not only seeing prices drop on 13,000 items in the Lancaster Street store, but are also beginning to see fresh paint, new interior and exterior signs, and hundreds of new products.

The improvements are the result of the recent purchase of Victory by Hannaford Bros. Co., says the store.

"Over the next several weeks, customers will see many changes and upgrades to the store," said Victory Super Markets v.p. and general manager Rick Meyerkopf. "These will include general updating and repair, as well as new signs on walls, shelves, and cases designed to provide customers with better information."

Among the highlights, customers will see new tables and fixtures in the bakery that will give the area a whole new look. Additionally, the store is slated to undergo a more extensive remodel over the next year.

Scheduled for a future date are new lighting and other energy-efficient measures, including controlled refrigeration provided by an in-store building automation system. Not only is the system more energy-efficient, notes Meyerkopf, "it also helps to ensure that product is refrigerated at the proper temperature to maintain food safety."

"We're excited to be able to offer our Victory customers new products and a different approach to merchandising," said Meyerkopf, noting that customers can still "expect to receive the same exceptional service from the people they know and rely on. We've been actively promoting our, 'no cards, no gimmicks, no hassles' message. What this means to customers is that they can receive low prices that stay low week after week, so that they don't have to stock up, clip coupons, or run around town comparing prices."

"We're very excited about these changes," said store manager Joe Fusco, Jr. "They will enable us to offer our customers more and better products and services."

The store improvements are due to be completed in time for a grand reopening celebration scheduled for June 12.
