Nash Finch Names President of Retail

MINNEAPOLIS -- Nash Finch Co., a food retail and distribution company based here, today named Michael J. Lewis e.v.p. and president of retail. As president of retail Lewis will have responsibility for operations, retail merchandising and marketing, real estate, and construction.

In making the announcement, c.e.o. Ron Marshall highlighted Lewis' history of success in the retail industry. "Michael has a unique depth and breadth of experience as an operator and strategic thinker in food retailing and food service," he said, "plus a proven record in merchandising, marketing, and industry consulting. We expect him to make a significant contribution to this critical area of our business and to the continued momentum of Nash Finch. We are pleased to welcome an executive of his caliber to our team."

Lewis has more than 25 years of varied retail responsibility, including service as v.p. of the No Frills Division for Loblaws Supermarkets, President of Willson Stationers, and Division President at Scott's Food Service. Most recently Lewis was president of Conquest Management Corp.in Toronto, a consulting firm specializing in growth strategies for retail companies.
