New Raley's to Include In-Store Bank and Updated Prepared Foods

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Cash will be one of the greens available at the Raley's supermarket that will celebrate its grand opening later this month.

The regional independent will feature a branch of Chico, Calif.-based Tri Counties Bank in conjunction with its grand opening festivities. The bank branch will feature extended hours, full-service banking, and a private office for personal banking. The bank also plans to build two additional new branches inside the new Bel Air Market in North Natomas, slated to open April 12, and inside Raley's in Elk Grove, scheduled to open in summer 2006.

Ready-to-eat meals will be a highlight of the new Raley's store opening in the Empire Ranch area of Folsom, Calif. on Wednesday, March 22. The event's theme, "The Art of Fresh," ties into the store's extensive prepared foods section, along with an expanded produce department and wine collection.

"We know our customers are busy people looking for convenience, service and value," says Raley's president & c.e.o. Bill Coyne. "We've updated our store layout and our prepared foods offerings because we want to make shopping in our stores a culinary experience, not just another chore."

Shoppers will find a fresh sushi bar, a full-service deli, hot pizza, self-serve Chinese food and soups, as well as grab-and-go salads and sandwiches, hot entrees such as rotisserie chicken and juicy tri-tip, and a separate "sub" shop featuring gourmet sandwiches and hot panini. With a sales floor measuring 42,930 square feet and several state-of-the-art amenities and convenient services, the new store will also include:

--Cheese Island, with dozens of gourmet cheeses to pair with food and wine;

--Java City Café, serving specialty coffee drinks;

--Well for Life, a concept encouraging healthy living;

--Play Care, a fun environment for children ages 2 to 8 to play while their parents shop;

--A pharmacy, professionally dispensing medication and advice;

--Four self-checkout lanes; and

--An Aisle 1 fuel station, with six pumps that can serve 12 vehicles, as well as a convenience store and carwash.
