North State Grocery to Deploy Online Price Optimization System

COTTONWOOD, Calif. -- Community-based 21-store chain North State Grocery, which operates under the Holiday Quality Foods and Sav-Mor Foods banners, yesterday joined the growing number of independent operators that are deploying Web-based price optimization systems.

The system at North State Grocery, from Sacramento, Calif.-based Revionics, is designed to help retailers increase net profits and revenues by statistically analyzing and recommending successful pricing strategies.

"This move further illustrates our longstanding commitment to leverage advanced technology to help us improve profitability while maintaining our focus on giving the consumer a great shopping experience," said Richard Morgan, Jr., president of North State Grocery. "One of the most appealing things about the Revionics approach is their ability to integrate in a non-disruptive way with our existing technology."

North State Grocery operates traditional full service supermarkets and price impact stores located throughout Northern California, primarily in the Sacramento Valley and the adjacent Sierra-Nevada Mountains.
