Pack Family/PMA Career Pathways Fund Hosts students at Fresh Summit

NEWARK, Del. - Forty-seven agribusiness and food marketing students and their advisors from around the globe will attend Fresh Summit next month, thanks to the Pack Family/Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Career Pathways Fund.

Administered by PMA's education foundation, based here, the fund is making it possible for 37 domestic and international collegiate agribusiness and food marketing students and 10 faculty advisors to participate in the trade association's convention taking place Oct. 12-15 in Houston, Texas.

The program is designed to provide students with an understanding of how the produce industry works and share the numerous career possibilities available in the produce industry. Members of PMA's board of directors and other volunteer industry leaders act as industry advisors to help maximize learning, facilitate networking, and answer questions.

Participating schools include: California Polytechnic State University, Cornell University, Michigan State University, Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (Chile), St. Joseph's University, Texas A&M University, University of California, Davis, University of Florida, University of Pretoria (South Africa), University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) and University of Queensland (Australia).

The deadline to pre-register for Fresh Summit is Friday, Sept. 28. Participants may also register on site in Houston beginning on Oct. 11. For more information about the 2007 PMA Fresh Summit International Convention & Exposition, visit www.pma.com/freshsummit.
