PMA Fresh Summit Pre-Conference to Explore Produce Role in Meals

NEWARK, Del. -- The Produce Marketing Association (PMA) based here will explore ways to integrate produce into meals during a pre-conference session, "Fresh Produce Training: A Hands-On Approach," that will take place during the Fresh Summit International Convention and Exposition on Fri., Oct. 20, 2006 in San Diego, Calif.

The seminar, featuring Chef Robert Danhi, was developed specifically to provide foodservice operators, distributors, chefs, and retailers with hands-on training and the latest techniques in how to select, handle, prepare and use produce commodities. Guest instructors will also share insights on produce and menu trends.

Additionally, the seminar will include a segment entitled "Play with Your Food," which will incorporate produce commodities in menu options with a focus on new ideas for salads and sandwiches.
