Ralph's Launches Loyalty Card Program at Cala Foods and Bell Markets

SAN FRANCISCO - Ralphs Grocery Company has announced the launch of a shopper rewards card program for customers at its Cala Foods and Bell Markets stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. The program officially begins June 26.

Ralphs, a division of The Kroger Co., operates seven Cala Foods stores and 13 Bell Markets in The Bay Area.

The new Cala/Bell Club Card is designed to reward loyal customers with special discounts on thousands of items throughout the store. The program was modeled after the popular Ralphs Club Card program, which was introduced in Ralphs supermarkets throughout California in 1997.

"We are committed to providing our customers with the savings, services and products they desire. Our new Cala/Bell Club Card does this and more," said Chris O'Leary, group vice president of sales and marketing for Cala/Bell Markets. "Our goal is to deliver a Cala/Bell Club Card program that is unique to other supermarket loyalty programs and delivers Cala/Bell customers with added values every time they shop with us. We're sure our customers will be pleased with the unique points of difference the Cala/Bell Club Card offers."

Cala/Bell Club cardholders will enjoy discounts on entertainment, travel, and other services, including airfare, cruises, car rentals and hotel rooms. The company is evaluating additional discount partners and expects to continually add more to the program.

The company has mailed cards to thousands of customers in The Bay Area. It is also providing applications at all Cala Foods and Bell Markets stores, as well as on its Web site, www.calabell.com.
