Robert Wegman's Funeral Held Today
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A funeral mass for Robert "Bob" Wegman will be held today at 10 a.m. at ?St. John Fisher College?Student Life Center?here. The service is open to the public, but capacity is limited, Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. said in a statement.
A shuttle service is available for attendees, who were asked to arrive at designated parking areas by 9 a.m. The entire funeral mass will also be broadcast live on RNews Channel 9 in Rochester. In accordance with Bob Wegman's wishes, Wegmans stores will remain open.
According to the company, those wishing to pay their condolences should make contributions to their favorite charities, in recognition of Bob Wegman's legacy of philanthropy. Bob Wegman is survived by his wife, Peggy; sister Cecilia Wright; brother Jim Wegman; children Danny Wegman, Gail Tobin, Joan Goldberg, and Marie Kenton; and several grandchildren, including Wegmans president Colleen Wegman, and great-grandchildren.
Wegmans operates 70 stores with stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland.
