ShopRite Teams Up With Continental Airlines in Customer Loyalty Program

ELIZABETH, N.J. - Leading retailer-owned cooperative ShopRite has launched a ShopRite for OnePass Miles promotion in a strategic partnership with Continental Airlines.

ShopRite teamed up with the Continental Airlines OnePass frequent flyer program to offer its Price Plus club members (ShopRite's loyalty card) OnePass miles for dollars spent at any ShopRite. The 26-week program is available in ShopRite stores throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Delaware. This is the first time ShopRite has offered a customer program that gives frequent flyer airline miles as the reward.

"We believe this program will show our customers that we value their business," said Joe Sheridan, executive VP, Wakefern Food Corporation, the merchandising and distribution arm of ShopRite. "At ShopRite, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to say 'thanks' and add value to shopping our stores."

Mark Bergsrud, VP of marketing, Continental Airlines, said the partnership is ideal given each of the companies' market leadership in the Northeast.

In the first four days of the program, thousands of customers have already signed up for the ShopRite for OnePass Miles program. Here's how the program works: Customers enroll their Price Plus club card and OnePass number at http://www.shoprite.com or in a ShopRite store. Shoppers qualify after reaching $500 for the 1-mile per $2 spent. Dollars spent reaching this amount also earn shoppers 250 miles.

The ShopRite for OnePass Miles program is scheduled to run through July 19.
