SimonDelivers Expands Service in Minnesota

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - SimonDelivers, Minnesota's leading home-grocery delivery service, today announced its expansion to serve customers in Rochester, St. Cloud, Faribault, Northfield and Hudson, Wis.

"We're thrilled to offer folks in Rochester and St. Cloud another choice in grocery shopping," said Simon Foster, founder and CEO of SimonDelivers. "With so many requests for our service, we considered Rochester and St. Cloud a natural fit for our service."

Orders are placed online or by phone, and are filled by Personal Shoppers at the company's grocery warehouse. SimonDelivers brings customers fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and seafood flown in fresh from ports on both coasts. Customers also enjoy a large selection of national brands of groceries.

Since launching in April 1999, SimonDelivers has grown to serve 55,000 households in the Twin Cities Metro area. The company said it has achieved profitability at the warehouse level and is fast approaching the corporate profitability milestone.

"We're building on the strength of our business model and the loyalty of our customers," Foster said. "Instead of offering on-demand service and expanding quickly, we've rolled out a route-based business at a methodical and controlled pace. This is still a very exciting 'new-world' business, and we just followed some good 'old-world' business rules by focusing on becoming profitable in one market first."
