SimonDelivers.com Named Among Top 50 Web Sites

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - SimonDelivers.com, a Minnesota-based home-grocery delivery service, has been named to the "Best of the Web: The Top 50 Retailing Web Sites" poll by national trade publication Internet Retailer.

"We're ecstatic over being named to this list alongside such high-profile national retailers as Amazon.com and Gap.com, and feel that it's a great honor for a homegrown company," said SimonDelivers Inc. c.e.o. Christopher Brown, who left Nash Finch earlier this year to join the Internet retailer.

"It's very exciting and validating to see that our efforts to provide customers with fresh, quality products and incomparable service is being recognized beyond our markets in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin."

SimonDelivers.com is included in the Food & Drug category alongside chocolatiers Godiva.com and Hersheys.com, drug stores CVS.com and Drugstore.com, and gourmet chocolate-dipped strawberry seller Berries.com.

Other Top 50 retailers outside the Food & Drug category include Bluefly.com, Zappos.com, BestBuy.com, iTunes.com and CrateandBarrel.com.

Internet Retailer said in a statement that online spending increased nearly 25 percent in 2003 on top of a similar increase in 2002.

SimonDelivers provides weekly stock-up items as well as fresh produce, quality meats and baked goods to 55,000 households and small businesses in the Minneapolis-St. Paul seven-country Metro area, St. Cloud and Rochester, Minn., and Des Moines, Iowa. The company also carries a selected assortment of national and local brands of groceries and has a Wine & Spirits Shop.
