Southwest Food Distributors Reportedly Eyeing Wichita for New Grocery Concept
TULSA -- Southwest Food Distributors here has leased the former Osco rug building and is reportedly considering opening a food retail and warehouse center where shoppers and restaurants can buy individual products or items in bulk.
The retail/warehouse is a new concept for the distributor, which recently bought the Fadler Co. and in March opened a similar store -- called Fadler's Market -- in Tulsa, according to published local reports.
Southwest plans to open a Fadler's Market in about 14,000 square feet of the 23,176-square-foot building and lease the rest of the space to another business, Brad Saville, president of Landmark Commercial Real Estate, was quoted as saying.
Although renovations are currently under way, Southwest officials are cautious about discussing any definitive plans.
