Stater Bros. Enters the C-store Business

COLTON, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets is accelerating its way into the c-store business. The successful Southern California grocer plans to open its first Stater Express convenience store in the infield at California Speedway in Fontana later this week, during the opening of the NASCAR Labor Day Race Weekend.

At 2,400 square feet, the Stater Express convenience store, located in the center infield RV area on the backstretch.

The fully air conditioned store will offer an array of meats, produce, prepared ready-to-eat foods, baked goods, and many non-food items, and will also feature same-day orders (orders received by 10:00 a.m. will be ready by 4:00 p.m.). The store will serve a market of nearly 1,900 reserved RV sites at the speedway.

"Our infield customers will continue to receive the same friendly service and exceptional value that they have come to expect at their local Stater Bros. Supermarkets, including low prices," said Jack H. Brown, Stater Brothers chairman and c.e.o.

Stater Bros. is the Official Grocery Store of California Speedway, and the title sponsor of the Stater Bros. 300 NASCAR Busch Series race, which will be held on February 25, 2006 at the speedway.
