Stater Bros. Raises $200K to Fight Cancer

tater Bros., its customers, and employees have contributed a combined $200,000 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

For two-and-a-half weeks in June, customers and employees at all 165 of the regional grocer’s stores were able to donate to the organization by purchasing “Light the Night” paper balloons for $1. Additionally, the grocer made a direct contribution to the “Light the Night” campaign.

All funds collected go back to the local communities served by Stater Bros. and will be used to support key programs for those with blood cancers, as well as research toward a cure.

A check presentation, attended by 9-year-old leukemia survivor Caleb Gennaway, took place at the Stater Bros. Supermarket in Perris, Calif.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.

San Bernadino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. employs over 19,000 associates.
