Twin Cities Rainbow Stores Host ‘Cop on Top’ Fundraiser

Beginning last Friday at noon through noon yesterday (Sunday, June 8), local law enforcement officers camped out on 30 Twin Cities metro-area Rainbow Foods locations to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota as part of the second annual Cop on Top event.

A component of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Minnesota, law enforcement officers camped out for 48 hours -- or until they reached their fundraising goal. Law enforcement officers also collected donations from customers at the cash register and online.

The second annual Cop on Top event, presented by Rainbow Foods, along with three local radio stations, is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Runs program, a grassroots campaign of law enforcement representatives worldwide.

Rainbow Foods is a subsidiary of Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc., which operates 152 retail grocery stores under the Rainbow, Pick 'n Save and Copps banners in Minnesota and Wisconsin, including 30 Rainbow Foods stores in the Twin Cities.
