Wegmans to Host Book Signing

Author and financial adviser Randy Schuster will be at the Champagne Room at the Pittsford Wegmans store in Rochester, N.Y. Oct. 23 to sign copies of his new book, "Turning Points: Defining Moments That Shaped the Character of Top Business Leaders," which profiles 35 Rochester-area business leaders, the chain said. The book features an introduction by Wegmans c.e.o. Danny Wegman. Also in attendance at the signing will be five of book's subjects: Steven Sauer, David Cornell, Lauren Dixon, Dennis Kessler, and Kathy Clark.

Shoppers can pick up free tickets to the event at any Rochester Wegmans "That's T.H.E. Ticket" location.

The book is on sale at all Wegmans locations for $11.96, 20 percent off the list price, Wegmans said. For each book purchased, the grocer will donate $5 to the Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection.

Danny Wegman's introduction includes analysis of a speech by his father, Robert B. Wegman, called "I am a merchant."

"It was essentially my father's entire knowledge of business encapsulated into a few short pages," Danny Wegman wrote. "He spoke passionately about the importance of creating your own niche in life and doing something that is totally unique; something that only you can do. He also emphasized that whatever you do, there will come a time when you have to be able to adapt it to the changing times, because if one thing is certain, it's that the times are always changing."

Rochester-based Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. operates 71 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, and Maryland.
